What's Happening-

Our next meeting will be July 6th at Neal and Joyce Larson's home. Their address is 320 NW Evans St.  Go south off of Wallula Rd or go north off of Whitman Dr. This is potluck.  The club provides the main course, either hotdogs/burgers or fried chicken and soda.  Members are asked to bring side dishes or chips or desserts. Forks and knives and soda are also provided by the club. Come at 6pm if you want to have dinner with friends, the meeting will be at 7pm.

It's hard to believe that June is already over! We have had such a cruddy spring with all the rain that it feels like we haven't even started the season yet. But the past few weeks have turned around and we have had some great weather. There were quite a few car shows this month, with the June Cruis In in Pendleton, the Wild Horse Car Show, and the Dayton Car Show to name a few. I also went to Everett for the Mopar Spring Round Up. It kinda sucked because it rained most of the day. There was one person with a canopy in the area where I was parked, and several of us huddled under there until the rain stopped. I felt like an Emperor Penguin all huddled with the other folks keeping our eggs warm! Sheesh! I also went to a small Mopar show in Yakima with Chuck Shelley. The weather was much nicer there! Chuck brought home an award for his car in the Open Ford class. Way to go Bro!! We also had a nice time in Milton Freewater this past Sunday at the Palm Tavern for their 2nd Annual Car Show. There were about 25 cars there. The car show was $5 and lunch was another $5 which included fried chicken, home made potato salad, baked beans, and water melon. It was darn tasty!! A really nice yellow Ford Model A won the best of show and well deserved. It was a nice car.

This coming weekend is the Independence Day Show N Shine in Pasco at the TRAC on Saturday. Registration is from 7am to 8am and the show is from 8am to 2pm with the awards ceremony inside the TRAC building. This has been a pretty nice car show and there will be a group of us going over on Saturday morning. We haven't determined a time yet, however. I'm suggesting that we leave from Jacobi's parking lot at 6:30 am since it starts so early. Jacobi's will be a good place to leave from because it has good access to the highway from there. Stay tuned for an e-mail later this week and if you don't have e-mail and want to go with a group you can call me at 509-301-0911. I work from 2pm to 10pm so just leave a message and I'll call you back.

One last note; you'll see below that Shanny is looking for someone to take charge of the poker runs for August and September. Jeff Filbrandt is handling July for us at the cruise on July 9th. If interested in doing this, contact Shanny.

Enjoy the summer that has finally arrived and have a great and safe 4th of July! I don't want to send fire trucks to your house!!

Presidential Quips- Here's a note from Shanny:

I have the new name tag sample, so if you would like to order one they are $4 each, must pay for them when you order it from me. Should be 1 to 2 weeks to get it back. Reminder about our show and shines. Our show and shines we've had, have had poor turn outs, remember all the raffle items we had at the end of the year party? If it wasn't for these companies donating to our club's party we wouldn't of had anything to raffle off. Also it is one of the big money makers for the club. I'm also looking for someone to run the poker runs, see you Friday. Shanny
